Jeff’s Advice for Young People Considering College
If you are trying to decide whether or not to go to college and pursue a traditional career path, Jeff’s advice would be to avoid a dogmatic approach. It’s not a black and white issue, and what’s right for you might be different than what’s right for others. If you have a specialized path you want to follow, proceed with college, but don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Allow yourself the freedom to build wealth in multiple ways.
The Differences Between Being an Entrepreneur and Following a Traditional Career Path
Being an entrepreneur is not necessarily about talent or skills. There is a ton of free information out there for anyone who chooses to take advantage of it. Jeff explains that people resist the entrepreneurial path because it’s so different from the way they’ve been taught. As an entrepreneur, there’s no multiple choice test to study for, and your results aren’t always as measurable. Entrepreneurism is more about constant self-development.
How to Use Real Estate as a Safety Net
While real estate investing is not Jeff’s primary source of income, he attributes it to his success. As an entrepreneur, he’s faced times when none of his projects were fruitful—except his rental properties. Real estate allowed him to chase his career passions while his rentals paid the bills. He sees real estate as a great safety net that allows entrepreneurs freedom.
