After Michael Blank read Rich Dad Poor Dad, he knew he needed to implement a monumental change. He realized the capability to make a passive income through real estate, so he took up flipping. However, he quickly realized this was the wrong strategy—there’s nothing passive about flipping houses!

Once he saw the light that is buy and hold investing, he started doing some calculations. He realized that making the amount of money he was striving for would require accumulating a lot of single-family houses. He then came to the conclusion that investing in apartments was more suited to his personality type and his goals.

But like most people, Michael didn’t have the kind of money to simply go out and purchase an apartment complex! He felt obligated to raise money, which motivated him. Although he didn’t know much about raising capital for real estate, he was able to make it happen. Michael believes that in order to succeed, we must leave behind limiting beliefs about money.

He found that his ability to expand his portfolio was not limited by the number in his bank account, but instead his ability to raise money. He describes that doing so is all about visualizing the process, and having confidence.
